Welcome
On behalf of the committee I would like to welcome you to the Haematology Association of Ireland Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals website.
Our fabulous committee members are situated throughout Ireland and come together to develop educational multi-professional forums in the field of adult and paediatric haematology. These forums provide education, disseminate practice, offer discussion of experiences and provide opportunities for networking. The Nurse and AHP study day is held in April each year; and the HAI annual conference is held in October and this is a joint conference which runs alongside medical, scientific and laboratory sessions.
All nurses and allied healthcare professionals are welcome to attend and we endeavour to cover a wide range of haematological topics to suit all professionals regardless of your experience. We welcome any suggestions for topics for discussion so please contact any of our committee members via our committee link and we would be happy to discuss this with you. We encourage all delegates to submit an abstract to our annual meeting – it’s a great way to share practice, demonstrate service development and you could also win a prize!
We understand the current restraints in trying to attend conferences so the committee offers bursaries of up to €150 towards the cost of registration or accommodation – so don’t miss out!
Your contribution into our meetings and newsletter is what makes HAI nurses and AHP group so diverse and well attended so please keep up the good work and we look forward to your presence at our next conference.

Single occupancy – £140
Double £160 bb per room per night
Please note that any unbooked rooms will be released back to the hotel 5 x weeks prior to the conference. Cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to arrival.

'Novartis Career Development Award' & 'AstraZeneca Award'
We delighted to announce that we have 2 Career Development Awards to give this year. The first is the Novartis Career Development Award and the second I the AstraZeneca Award. Each of these awards is in the amount of €10,000 each.
These awards are intended as seed funding for non-tenured scientists, including Postdoctoral Researchers, Biomedical Scientists/Medical Scientists/Clinical Scientists and Clinicians in training to develop an area of basic or clinical research in a haematology related field on the island of Ireland. The awards are open to both academic and hospital employees. All applicants must have a contract of employment in a hospital or third level institution on the island on Ireland for the period of the awards. Click the button below for the awards criteria.

HAI/Novartis Nursing/AHP Research Project Award
In addition, we have the Novartis Nursing/AHP Research Project Award which is also intended as seed funding for Nurses/ AHPs in a haematology related field in the island of Ireland. The amount of this award is €3,000 and will only be used for research purposes. The recipient receives 100% of this award.
