We are also delighted announce that we will be continuing with our Clinical Vignettes session due to the positive response it received over the past couple of years. This is a session specifically dedicated to those who would like to submit case reports. These can be centred on, for example, an interesting patient or of a patient/treatment that has/has not worked. Each presentation will be allocated 5 x minutes in total to present. When submitting, these do not need to be in abstract format. Whilst reports of individuals cases (case reports) with unique scientific or educational value will be considered, they must enhance clinical practice or diagnostic understanding to be accepted. In the interest of maintaining high scientific standards only those abstracts passing peer review will be accepted.

Educational Funding
This year the HAI are upgrading a range of awards as follows due to receiving substantial funding from GSK and Johnson & Johnson. These are as follows:
GSK Bursaries
Career Development Awards to the value of €3,500
Educational Travel Awards to the value of €2,000 and €1,000 respectively towards attendance at international haematology educational meetings e.g. ASH, ASH Highlights, EHA and all other relevant educational meetings will be considered by the Committee.
These awards are open to all members of the HAI to include Nursing/AHPs, Trainees & Scientists. If you would like to apply for funding, please contact Sinead or Debbie and they will be able to advise how best to apply for this funding. Once received, all applications will be reviewed by the Committee.
Johnson & Johnson – President’s Symposium Award Sponsorship
As you are aware, the top 4 x scoring abstracts submitted to our Medical & Scientific Sessions at our annual conference receive a 15 x minute oral presentation at the prestigious President’s Symposium. This year, Johnson & Johnson are supporting these awards. The overall best oral presentation prize will receive €2,500 bursary and the 3 x runner up prize winners will receive €750 each so it is really worthwhile submitting a high quality submission!
Similarly with the Nursing & AHPs Sessions at the AGM, we will be providing a bursary in the amount of €1,000 for the best overall oral presentation.
Travel Bursaries
As in previous years, we will be providing travel bursaries to attend our AGM in Cork and these are open to all and priority is given to those who submit an abstract that has been accepted for either a display poster presentation or an oral presentation.
The HAI annual meeting receives financial support with a sponsorship arrangement from our multiple industry partners
